CDM CONSTRUCTION SAFETY FOR DESIGNERS

Float Image

Because you already plan, manage and monitor the design phase, lead designers, e.g. architects, engineers and surveyors are ideally placed to undertake the principal designer role, however you may not have all of the required competencies, particularly in terms of health and safety experience..

Designers undertaking the PD role need to consider whether they have any gaps in their skills, knowledge and experience for the project and, if so, seek further advice and support. On more complex projects, designers may wish to appoint a specialist health and safety consultancy with knowledge and experience in the pre-construction phase and construction phase to help them fulfil their duties as principal designer.

Black Rock Safety have the capability to provide more bespoke principal designer advisor services to designers, who do not feel that they have sufficient health and safety knowledge, experience or ability to undertake the role without assistance.

Our CDM team can advise and assist the Principal Designer in discharging their duties to plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase and coordinate matters relating to health and safety during the pre-construction phase and construction phase of projects.
